Semi Permanent Makeup Treatments

Are you tired of having to spend countless hours a week on your makeup routine? Do you wish you could just wake up and look put together right away? This is exactly the issue semi permanent makeup treatments address, giving you a finished look without any work on your part.

Let’s take a look at everything you need to know about semi-permanent makeup treatments, so you can plan ahead and achieve perfect beauty results.

What’s The Best Semi Permanent Makeup Treatment For Me?

1. Semi-Permanent Lips – A Defined and Full Lip Line

With semi-permanent lips, a slightly darker shade is used around the lip line to create a natural-looking border. An ombre look is then created from the lip line to the centre, getting lighter as the colour moves to the centre. It is a semi-permanent tattoo, so it’s not going to wash off or fade during the day. This treatment can provide results for two to three years.

The process will take about three hours to complete. You should also plan on a healing time of about 10 days.  If you’re having the treatment done for a specific date or event, you’ll want to get it done a few weeks in advance. It’s also quite normal to have a top-up or follow-up treatment six weeks after the initial procedure.

2. Eyebrow Microblading – Is It Right for You?

Semi-permanent microblading is the process of using a very fine point needle (a manual hand tool) to tattoo pigment onto the skin that looks like natural eyebrows. It provides a fuller look to your brow and creates soft individual brow hairs. Unlike a traditional tattoo that lasts forever, the pigment  will eventually fade away, but this takes a few years.

You can expect the procedure to take 90 – 120 minutes, and you’ll most likely need to return for a touch up 4 – 6 weeks later. Because the healing process takes a solid week to 10 days, you don’t have it done too close to an event. Give yourself a couple of weeks of healing time. The brows will scab over as they heal, so it’s important not to pick or touch them and let the scab fall off on its own.

3. Semi-Permanent Eyebrows – What Makes it Different than Microblading?

Another popular semi permanent makeup treatment is semi-permanent eyebrows. Unlike with microblading, semi-permanent eyebrows are applied using a digital tattooing machine.  This technique creates a  shaded eyebrow.  It can range from a very soft to a strong bold end result.

There are more needle configurations available for semi-permanent eyebrows vs microblading, which gives you more options when it comes to the shape and thickness of the brows. These also last longer than microblading.

The process itself is usually about two to three hours in length. A touch-up will be needed 4-6 weeks later. The healing process can be a bit longer than microblading, taking up to two weeks to heal completely. Schedule the procedure well in advance of any event you have planned.

4. Semi-Permanent Eyeliner – Create a Fuller Looking Lash Line

Semi-permanent eyeliner is great for creating a fuller-looking lash line, and for those who don’t want to fiddle with applying eyeliner each day. Again, the pigment is tattooed on, so you can expect this semi permanent makeup treatment to last a few years.

This process typically only takes 90 minutes to 2 hours to complete, and a touch-up may be required a few weeks later.  Healing takes 1-2 weeks, so factor that in when choosing an appointment date.
