Skin booster after care:

The following skin booster advice is important to achieve the optimal end result and help reduce the risk of complications.  Your practitioner will explain all the benefits of good after care practises and make sure you understand the skin booster after care procedure before you leave the clinic.

You are going to experience some bruising, swelling and feeling lumps after your skin booster treatment and this will disappear with in a couple of days.  Please allow 2 -3 weeks for the treatment to settle.

  • Avoid touching and rubbing the area for 24 hours after your skin booster treatment to prevent irritation and possible bacterial infection.  Please wash your hands before applying any creams or moisturisers.
  • The hyaluronic acid in your skin booster is a water loving substance and can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water, which means it draws moisture to itself .  You will benefit from drinking loads of water after your treatment to maximise its effect.
  • You can apply ice packs to help reduce swelling.  Do not apply the ice pack directly to the treated area and rather wrap it in a dry, clean cloth.   For the eye booster treatment, you will receive under eye silicon patches in your after care pack.  We recommend you pop this in the fridge or freezer and apply under the eyes.
  • Avoid excessive exercise up to 24 hours after your treatment.  Heat and sweating can increase swelling and the he risk of infection.  Also avoid saunas and hot tubs for the first couple of days.
  • Use a gentle cleanser for the first couple of days after your treatment to avoid irritation.
  • Moisturise your skin after the treatment to keep your skin hydrated.  We will provide you with a natural almond oil mix with pomegranate essence to apply for the first few days.  Please be aware of any nut allergies, in which case any bland moisturiser will do.  Avoid using glycolic acid, exfoliating products or toners as this will sting your skin.
  • You can apply makeup after 24 hours.  Makeup can clog your injection site and interfere with the healing process and be a risk for infection.
  • Avoid alcohol and smoking after your skin booster treatment as this can cause more swelling and bruising.
  • Avoid electrolyses, waxing, microneedling, chemical peels or any other invasive cosmetic treatments for 2 weeks after your treatment.
